  Andy Warhol first exhibited his controversial series of  silk-screened Campbell’s Soup can paintings in 1962. In 1964, Warhol and  other artists collaborated on The American Supermarket, at New  York City’s Bianchini Gallery, which mixed real objects with Pop Art  versions. Warhol produced the shopping bag shown above for an exhibition  of his work (October 1-November 6, 1966) at the Institute of  Contemporary Art in Boston.
